🚀 Starting a New Project: Estimating 101 🚀
Ready to dive into the estimating process? Let’s get started! 🛠️
1️⃣ Create a New Project: Click on “New Project” at the top of the screen. Don’t forget to rename it to something relevant!
2️⃣ Contractors, Listen Up: Always write your estimate in the carrier profile! This is crucial for accuracy.
3️⃣ No Need for Extras: After renaming, just hit “Create.” No need to fill out anything else on that screen.
4️⃣ Stay Focused: The estimate will open in a new window. Here’s a tip—only have ONE estimate window open at a time. Trust me, having multiple windows open can lead to unwanted changes on the wrong estimate. I’ve been there! 😅
5️⃣ Dashboard Always Open: Keep your dashboard in a separate window to stay organized.
Keep it simple, and you’re on your way to mastering the estimating process! 💪✨ #Estimating101 #ProjectManagement #ContractorTips #StayOrganized

Why Get Certified In Xactimate

Join Alena Wilson from Estimate Mastery LIVE Tuesday June 3rd at 4:30 CST/ 5:30 EST as she will be talking all about why you should get Certified in Xactimate. One of our FAQ’s here at Estimate Mastery is…do I need to be Certified to use Xactimate?
The answer is NO, for day to day estimating and getting around in the software, you don’t need any sort of certification to be able to write estimates in the software.
BUT, getting Certified is useful as leverage to getting line items paid.
We’ve had many, many contractors report back that when they added their Certification credentials to their email signature and few other key places like their company header, they were able to use the fact that they had been Certified to move their estimate “up the food chain” inside the insurance company and talk with someone who holds the same level of Cert. This is a Live you don’t want to miss!
